ASE Mission Statement and Goals

Our membership includes members from across the U.S. and around the world. We have a broad base of professional, academic and supplier. They representatives all facets of the embalming arts , including:

  • Mortuary schools

  • Embalming chemical companies

  • State licensing boards

  • Branches of the US military

  • Medical school anatomy departments

Our associate members include Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity, Blake Emergency Services, The Dodge Company, Frigid Fluid Company, Eckels Fluid Company, the Funeral Ethics Association, the International Cemetery and Funeral Association, Michigan Embalmers Society, Australian Institute of Embalmers, and Eagle Coach Company.

Mission Statement Of The American Society of Embalmers

The American Society of Embalmers is established to promulgate and promote excellence in the 21^st century practice of mortuary arts and sciences.

Our Goals include:

1) Establish and Promote Education Standards

    Through continuing education programs with members of the funeral profession

    To promote better educational levels of practice in mortuary colleges

2) Establish and Promote Ethical Standards in the Fields of Mortuary Arts and Sciences

    Between colleagues in funeral service and with the public

    To improve the skills of the licensed practitioner

    Strive for an overall improvement in the quality of preparation work

3) Establish and Encourage Lifelong Learning

    For continuing improvement of operative techniques

    For improvement in product performance

    For a better understanding of the preservative processes

    For a better understanding of the real and potential health issues of the embalmer

    For a better understanding of the personal and social values of the funeral

American Society of Embalmers is a not-for-profit association under the IRS 501 (c) 3 law.
